A full IM in my own stomping grounds?! I had figured that I'd do an Ironman in 2012 and this is the universe's way of telling me it's going to be so. A week from tomorrow I'll be glued to a computer screen with my bank card in hand ready to sell my soul for IM training. Woo!

For the record, I hate all the financial people because their "average" salary is over twice what I make. Gah.
I wouldn't do it in its first year; there are bound to be a bunch of logistical issues. Also, the fact that it is going to be so hot and humid in the middle of August, doesn't seem all that appealing to me. I would take just about any other location over Manhattan.
Careful about signing up for this one...a swim in the Hudson, a few miles in Harlem and then the rest of the time on 1 road into North Jersey? ehhhh....I say - "go big or go home".
I think a lot of people will be signing up for that one! I hope it stays under $1000 for you! At least your travel expenses will be low.
