Losing it

As the days have been passing I've slowly been getting over my sickness. At least I think so. I have a feeling I may have had a mild fever that I broke on Monday night. I woke up on Tuesday flushed, and quite sweaty then had a seemingly high HR for my entire run. I'm definitely feeling better, but I'm still tired as anything and coughing a bit. The sleepies are dragging me down, but because of how busy school is this time of year I just can't seem to catch up. Swimming is kicking into high gear and in school I'm getting my kids ready for midterms and the end of the marking period. Lots going on indeed, and tons of grading on top of it.

It seems as though when I get sick I tend to lose my mind. I'm sure I've convinced all my students and coworkers that I am crazy. I just tend to speak without thinking, or totally don't know what I'm talking about but say it anyway. And forget things. And speak a bit out of line. Fortunately the speaking out of line only came in with my coworkers. I was feeling too sick to meet coworkers out after practice on Friday so I told them I had already taken my pants off, which (in my defense) I already had. And once those are off we know there's not going to be any socializing going on. I just went straight to bed.
Pants are over-rated

She quotes me much too often.

Aside from being sick and losing my mind, I've otherwise been muddling along. The early mornings and intense training sessions likely aren't helping me get any better, but I do what I'm told. Although, I'm starting to wonder if I didn't give my body enough time to recuperate before picking up training again as my runs leave much to be desired. My HR is high, and my pace is sluggish. I'm far from where I was this point last year, which is where all of this frustration is coming from.

On Friday I'll be heading to Austin, Texas to have a girls weekend for one of my nearest and dearest high school friend's bachelorette. She currently resides in Ohio, and since that's cold and miserable (my word, not hers) in the winter we're headed someplace a little bit warmer and totally awesome. I've never been to Texas and I am beyond excited to go, especially with these girls. Most of the ladies attending are college friends, but there will be three of us (future bride included) who went to high school together and are best buds. Good times will ensue. I will be packing my running shoes and hopefully shorts to frolic along in. Also to pack : Pants, so I can ride a mechanical bull.
